Wrapping up 2022 and Preparing for 2023

Well, what can I say, another year in the books.  It was a great one.  It was full of horses, baseball, hockey, work, play, family, and friends.  I haven't yet made a New Year's resolution of 2023, but if the outcome is a year like this one, I'll be thrilled.  In short 2022 was a year of good memories, here are just a few of them.

Maddox and his buddies, Riley and Oliver at the Apex.  Gotta love the rink rats

We were up in Eagle/Vail for a Hockey tournament and got to celebrate Grandpa's birthday with him.

While in Vail we got Dad a fancy cowboy hat for his birthday.  It's about time he has one.

What a handsome fella

Liesel and Scott had a banquet to celebrate her summer of riding.

Liesel and her top dog.

Milo's 2022-2023 hockey team.

Milo's team won the Silver Sticks tournament this year.  It is quite an accomplishment, and it means we get to go to Port Huron, Michigan in January to compete with the other winning teams.  I am so happy for these boys.  They had gotten close to winning another tournament this year, but couldn't quite pull out the W.  Milo told me I just want to win one tournament so I can know the feeling of throwing up my helmet and gear in celebration at the end of a tournament.  Well, he got to do this year!

This is Maddox last year as a Mite. He is having a ball and making lots of good buddies.

Getting ready for the holidays.

I LOVE these boys' relationship.  I don't know if it is due to their age gap, the fact that they share a room, or it is just a phase, but these two are really close.  In the evening this is their position.  Milo got invited to a sleep over last night and Maddox got all teary eyed when it was time to go to bed.  He said he Milo.  Liesel stepped up and said he could sleep with her.  Man, I hope they stay this close.

Yep, Maddox forgot his shoes when we went to run errands.  Liesel was quick to offer a piggyback ride.

This may have to become a new holiday tradition.  Scott and I went out on the town.  We got massages, went out to a nice dinner, and stayed at the Hotel Crawford in Union Station.  It was a great quick getaway and a good reminder that Scott and I do really enjoy each other's company.

Before we snuck of on our date, we made quick stop at the kids' elementary school.  Milo made us promise to hold off on embarrassing him at school until next year.  We chose to oblige in the name of Christmas Spirit.

Grinch Day.

Liesel had a Holiday Choir performance at school this year.  She did such a good job and the whole crew made it there to support her.

Christmas drive thru lights and Bandimere

We snuck in a visit with Santa.

We decorated cookies with Miss Jan, her parents, and Izzy!

Grammy's cookie tradition is still alive.

Liesel and Joslyn and the stables

Christmas Eve Ice with the Broughams

Christmas Eve at the Smiths

I thought this was a pretty good picture and then I realized Milo snuck in the Mullet Headband handed out as a white elephant gift.

Playing in Grammy and Grandpa's basement

Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs.

Heading up the tram

Too many Christmas cookies.

One of our new favorite traditions...the Vaudeville in Glenwood.  Yep, this was the best picture I could get.

Milo and I made it out to the slopes.
