So I have started back at work. I have to be totally honest and admit that I am happy to be back at Martin/Martin. I LOVED having three months off to get to know Liesel and play with Milo, but I was ready for some adult interaction. It is wonderful to have my scheduled lunch breaks for my workouts and my brain is sore from trying to catch up after being turned off (or at least turned to low). As all "working" moms (I think this is a silly term...obviously all moms "work") know the morning and the evening routines can be exhausting. The evenings consist of getting kiddos fed, bags unloaded and repacked, diaper duty, packing lunches, bottles for baby and a pumping mom, bed time routine and then crash. Once I get to work in the morning I often feel as though I have already had a full day. You know what makes things easier?..Dads!!!! I am very lucky to have such a helpful husband. I am very lucky to have found such a wonderful partner in this crazy game of parenthood.
Milo and Liesel are doing well. They have both had their first colds of the season, Liesel is on her second. Milo's cold turned into a respiratory issue and he got two ear infections. His tubes are no longer working and I am hoping we can get through the season with no more infections. If he gets another ear infection I am going to schedule the surgery to put new tubes in. He is still on his inhaler, but only uses it once a day. He has really started to talk and is stringing words together. This morning he said "Mommy, me to Lauries"? Asking if he was going to day care today. He also has an amazing imagination. We spend our time pretending to cook, drive, and talk on the phone (not all at the same time, that would be dangerous). Liesel is growing like a weed she isn't as big as her brother, but is by no means a "peanut". She is much more vocal than her brother ever was at this age and I believe she could be the happiest baby ever. She is full of smiles and rarely fusses. Like her brother, she loves to be naked and hates tummy time. Now if I could just get her to sleep better. She goes to bed around 8 and is up between midnight and 3am. The nice thing with the second is that you know it is all temporary so enjoy the baby snuggles and plow through sleep deprivation.
