It is November 13, the last time I blogged was June 23, that is a lot of days in between. That is way too long, I blame COVID. Since my last blog we played some more baseball, celebrated the Fourth of July, started horse-riding lessons, played a lot of golf, started Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 4th Grade remotely then went in person, played some hockey, sold a company, celebrated a 6th, 8th, 10th, and 39th birthday, we laughed, cried, and just lived this crazy life.
I wouldn't even know where to start to describe the last 5 months so I will let the pictures do the talking. As I added captions to this insanely long roll of pictures I noticed that we managed to have a pretty spectacular summer despite all the craziness going on in the world. 2020 has been a year and one for the history books. I don't know when things will get back to normal, or really what "normal" even means anymore. I do know that I am forever grateful and 2020 at its best has been a reminder to love fiercely and at it worst an inconvenience. For others it has been so much more and for those I send my love and prayers.
The kids were so lucky that Miss Jan's pool was open this summer and were able to go swimming with her. The public swimming pools were either closed or you had to make reservations to help social distancing for COVID.

Milo started working with Mr. Bill this summer. He has worked so hard to overcome his dyslexia. Mr. Bill lives in Nana and Papa's neighborhood so after turtoring he would walk to their house and often Maddox would meet him. One of the neighbors who live between Nana's house and Mr. Bill's house got this cute picture of brotherly love!

This tough little guy had to get stitches this summer. He fell off one of gabion walls and cut his leg on the cage. I know I am biased, but a honestly think he is the toughest 5 year old out there.

Nora and Liesel with their babies. Due to COVID we had a lot of outdoor playdates. I must admit not having little hurricanes in the house was a pretty nice side effect, plus everyone got more vitamin D. This is one thing that remain after COVID.

This summer Martin/Martin put together a drive in movie for some company moral. We got to drive the big truck to the office parking lot to watch Top Gun. The kids, and Mom and Dad, had a great time!

The day before school started Nana and Papa came with us to stay a night at the Gaylord Resort. We had a great time swimming, eating out, and enjoying some time away from home.

For the first two weeks this year we all started remotely. Our internet at the farm is not good enough to support all kids conferencing in to their classrooms, plus me working from home so we crashed Nana and Papa's house. After the two weeks of remote learning students had a choice to go back to in person learning. All three of my kids went back to school. As of today, 11/14/2020, the kids have been able to learn in person. COVID cases are going up so starting on 11/30/2020 Jeffco School District will be entirely remote. We are hopeful that kids can return in January after winter break, but in the meantime I am just very grateful that they were able to be in person for almost 12 weeks.
This summer we all did a lot of golfing. Milo and Maddox love it and Liesel tolerates it as long as she can ride along in a golf cart.

This girl! We went for a walk. Naturally we need, a blanket, purse, dinosaur, a broken camera, a bunch of suns screen, and a dog leash (we didn't have a dog with us, but she needed it for the dinosaur who is named Trevor). Oh my!
Maddox brought a smile and that's it.
I could not be more proud of this kid. He has worked so hard at reading. I never thought he would be the kid I have to tell him that it is time to put the book down and go to bed.

And rounding out the birthday season was Scott! He had a big year this year. He finally was able to sell his company. I can't even begin to describe how proud of him I am or how lucky I feel to have him as a partner in this crazy life. For his birthday and to celebrate the sell of his company we went to Arizona with the Sturges. We played golf, drank, ate, and LAUGHED.
