To The Mother's in my life...
First and Foremost Mom,
You are the woman who has always had eyes in the back of her head, who will forever be a source of comfort, and the woman who will always feel like home. It is you who I get my drive, love of food, my sense of humor, and my ski jump nose from. I have been astonished by your strength over the last year and throughout my life. Now that I know how hard being a parent is I am amazed at how easy you made it look. Thank you for being an amazing support for me as I navigate this whole motherhood thing. I love you!
Janet,
To a mother-in-law who puts all other mother-in-laws to shame. I have often joked that I might need to take out an insurance policy on you because if something ever happened to you I will need to hire full time help. Though this is true, no money could buy the friendship we have built. You are a wonderful grandmother to my babies, a great mother to the man I married, and one of my most treasured people. I love you very much!
To the Girlfriends who join me on this crazy ride they call "Mothering",
There is lot to be thankful for, but most of all, thank you for doing this whole motherhood thing with me. Being a mom is an amazing role and REALLY REALLY hard. Thanks for making this journey a bit easier. Thanks for helping turn some of the less enjoyable moments into totally laughable ones. Whether you are near or far, whether we talk daily or only follow each other from afar on Facebook, you all inspire me.
To all these women, Happy Mother's Day!
To my husband,
Today on Mother's Day I thank you for three of my most favorite people in the whole wide world, Milo, Liesel and Maddox.
To My Little Ones:
Milo, You wrote me a mother's day note this year. It said, "I love you because you play with me and turn on movies for me." Oh how I do love to play with you....I am choosing to ignore the movie part (wink wink). Thanks for being the very first person to make me a mom.
Liesel, My only little girl, who I know one day will make me a grandma, gulp. You love your babies so much and will one day be a great mommy. Thanks for keeping me on my toes, keeping me humble, and making me laugh.
Maddox, As I write this you are sitting on my lap (and not napping). Thank you for your baby grins, being such a good sleeper, and thinking the world revolves around me.
To Me on Mother's Day,
You have three wonderful kids, and if I do say so my self, you are doing a pretty good job. Balance is something you struggle with and you will get out of balance every once in while. Don't forget who grounds you and where your priorities lie. A friend of yours recently told you to be kind to yourself. Take her advice seriously and try to enjoy these days.
Check out these gems.
I too loved babies as a little girl
Milo and his best girl...Sloaney.
Those kissable cheeks.
Reading buddies
That hair. It is starting to look less like a mohawk and more like a comb over.
Cheese...Fun note on Liesel. She has officially given up her pacifier. Next, potty training.
These two really do love each other
Mom is playing soccer again.
Liesel is cute even while throwing a fit.
Sir Knight Milo
Maddox is sitting and looking ridiculously cute.
Nana and her two littlest grandkids.
