January 2012

2012 has been good to us so far.  We have been lucky and have managed to avoid getting too sick during this cold season (knock on wood).  We will go back to the doctor's this spring to check out Milo's ear tubes.  They seem to be doing the trick and I am hopeful we won't have to replace them with bigger tubes until next year.  I plan on taking him off his inhaler come spring time and see how he does.  I want to wait until after cold season to make sure we don't have any more visits to the ER for respiratory issues.  Milo has had a few days here and there with a running nose and/or fever.  I think the majority of the time these are induced by teething.  He is up to ten teeth and is working hard on the eleventh.  He is babbling a lot, but doesn't have many words.  Or at least words that I can understand.  I have no doubt he makes perfect sense to himself.  He says Mama, Dada, ball and Bosco.  Ball and Bosco sound very similar...BAAA! Though his speech is still a work in progress he is understanding very well.  He has started to follow directions and enjoys having tasks.  "Go put this on the table",  "Please throw this in the trash", "Pick up your toys", "Give Bosco a Hug".  The latter being one of his favorite chores.  Things are good in our world and we are enjoying the winter.  This nice weather has made me ready for spring, but I know that we are still in for a couple more good storms.

Earlier this month we celebrated Aunt Miranda's Birthday and Cousin Connor's 3rd birthday.  Milo and Connor are really starting to play with each other.  Even Joslyn enjoys watching them and adds some screams of her own to remind them she is still there.  I am really looking forward to watching these kiddos grow up together.   Daddo was in New York and Rhode Island earlier this month and got home last week.  We have been enjoying our time with him.

 Just the three of us.

We went to the zoo with Grammy, Grandpa and Connor for Connor's Birthday.
Milo in the Conestoga Wagon at the Denver Zoo.
Milo and Connor enjoying a snack and doing some site seeing.
Connor in his super hero costume for Aunt Jane.  Last year in Lake Powell when I told Connor he was my nephew he said, "I'm not your nephew I am your super hero." So I got him the attire to fit the job description.  I can't believe he is three!
Milo enjoying his afternoon snack.  Good form!

The field to the west of us is finally under contract.  One of the benefits of being right next door to a construction site is the ability to make site visits and check out the equipment.

Daddo need some help putting together the new receiver.  Love the head lamp and Carhart overalls.
Boxes...a babies best friend...oh yea and monkeys too.
