I always write to the kids on their birthday to let them know what they were like at this age. I do this mostly for me. So I can read these entries later and remember all the laughter and where we were as a family at that time. There have been dozens of these memories that I wanted to write down over the last two months so that I don't forget them, but time got away from me, I didn't get around to blogging and unfortunately I have already forgotten those "I have to remembers". I am hoping that as I write today they will come to me and I can jot them down. Fingers crossed.
In the meantime I am going to write to me on my birthday. Jane, you turned 36 this year. You are exactly were you would want to be at 36. Kudos to you. You love the challenge of your job, but don't care for the stress it inevitably brings. You challenged yourself more this past year than you ever have before. You learned that generally all you need is confidence in yourself. Being your own advocate is the only way to secure your future. You still struggle with the unbelievable power of "mom-guilt". Questioning whether you should you stay home with your littles or continue to work? For now, you love your job and know that working makes you the best mom you can be. You have learned that being a mom is so much fun, and more rewarding, and exhausting than you could have ever imagined. You see Scott and you in all of your kids, but mostly you see just them. Milo, Liesel, and Maddox are perfectly wild, sweet, ornery, hard working, and funny. You and Scott went on your first date 17 years ago on February 4, 2001. You picked a good one. He is very strong willed, believes he is right even when he is defiantly wrong, and is the most family oriented man you have ever met. You are lucky to have him. You love your home, but never take the time to enjoy it. Spending more time than you care to admit picking it up and planning the next project. Life is full. Sometimes too full. You need to learn patience. Patience with yourself, your co-workers, and most of all with your family. One thing you have perfected is forgiveness. Mostly this is because you are by no means a perfect being, you make lots of mistakes and have to forgive yourself and move on all the time. Your moments of being a "crazy" "pushed over the edge" mom, though not a good look on you, has taught you that an apology goes a long way. Your kids have taught you how forgiving people are. The rest of your family and friends have shown you how supportive people are. You are surrounded by lovely people and are exactly where you would want to be at 36. Happy Birthday Me.
Crazy Boy. I don't know if I have written this yet or not. Don't forget that Maddox cannot say his "T" at this age. He replaces them with "s". I
I need to get her in a dance class. She loves to perform.
Milo is still loves hockey. He is becoming such a good player. Mostly he just works hard. He is the second one from the end in the glasses.
Look Mom.
Stock Show fun
Liesel loved the stock show. She spent hours there and was so upset when it was time to leave.
practicing her tricks.
Flirting with the Ladies.
Milo and his buddy Jack at the DU hockey game. I love these boys.

Fun in the Colorado Sun
Sometimes it is too hard to get all the way into bed. Yes, he still has his pacifier. Don't judge he's my third, I want him to be a baby forever, plus he still takes three hour long naps. I don't want to lose that.
Like Father, like son
My adorable godson Conrad. Could he be cuter? The answer is "no"

Maddox with "his best friend" Josie.

Liesel does a pretty darn good job of painting her own nails.

Meet our new Puppy Winston. Milo and Scott flew out to Virginia (yes, I know that is crazy) to get him. He can from the same breeder we got Bosco. He is a sweet puppy and has done a very good job reminding me that I really do like sleep and babies are hard work. Good think he is cute.
Look at those faces
Testing out Winston's new digs.
