A late Thanksgiving update

Today is Christmas Eve which means I am going to have a ton of pictures and lots to report, so I figured I better get blogging about Thanksgiving.   We made the trip over the mountains to Grammy and Grandpa’s House.  It was a small group this year, just family.  The Kennedy Crew, Grammy and Grandpa and us.  The grandkids had so much fun playing with each other.  There was lots of reading, playing in the basement, watching movies, decorating and eating….lots of eating.

Reading "My Buttons" with Grammy

We were hopeful that all the kids would sleep in the same room.  Milo had different thoughts.  He had lots of fun before lights-out, but as soon as we said good night he threw a pretty good fit.  He slept in our room with us, Bosco and Liesel.  Hopefully next year.  We are running out of room in our bedroom.

Liesel is loves to get stroller rides from Mo.  She is getting a little too big for this.

Milo went to watch Uncle G ref a game at the Pepsi Center.  A future Av?  Maybe.

All dolled up.

I just want to squeeze her.

Liesel's first hair cut.

Tough Guy.

I went upstairs to get something and came back down to this.  Not only is she laying on Bosco and being adorable, but she also colored all over her tummy and legs.  It's a good thing she's cute.

Milo colored this at day care.  He loves to color and is getting very good.  So proud of him.

All the grandkids.

Baby Teagan came and visited us.  Liesel LOVED her and was surprisingly gentle.

Milo also loved Teagan...

Daddy was gone a lot over the past month.  We sure are happy to have him around when he is here.  Love you Daddy!

A Milo Minute

Some of my favorite Milo-isms from December…

o   While at the Cool Cuts waiting to get the kid’s haircuts Liesel was playing with some bows.  I said to Milo, “Look how cute Liesel is.”  He replied with, “She’s not cute, she’s a terrorist.”  This phrase was picked up by Milo from his father.  Better watch out what we say.

o  I dropped both kids off at day care last week.  On my way out I said, “Bye Milo, I love you”.  He said, “Bye Mom, call me later.”

o  I was getting ready for my Christmas Party and had a sparkley skirt hanging up that I was planning on wearing.  Milo was playing and as he passed the skirt he stopped and said,  “Mom that skirt is adorable.”

A fun November.

Not a ton to report from the Aschermann household.  For this entry I will let the pictures do the talking.

Aunt Jen and Uncle Robert came to visit us.  It was great to see them.

The three Thompson kids.

Why do serious Milo?

We went skating for the first time.  Liesel did not want to miss out on the fun.

The boys.

Here he comes.

Love this photo!

Snuggle time.

Look what Mommy bribed me with.  I have been giving Milo toys in the morning if he goes to bed at night.  Scott has been traveling a lot and I am not above bribery to make my life easier.

We sent this one to Daddy while he was on the road.

Liesel and Uncle Bert.

Here we go Weezie.

Riding the tractor with Daddy.

Story time at the library.  Don't be fooled.  Liesel only sat for about 30 seconds.  I happened to get a photo of it.

Not ready to get rid of her baby seat.

While Daddy is on the road Milo gets to sleep with Mommy.

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween.  We had lots of fun Trick or Treating with the Sturges Crew.  In typical Arvada fashion it was windy, but we still bundled up and enjoyed the night.

Birthday Season

What would my life be without you two?  It would be restful,  I would be better dressed and my hair would be styled, my make-up, flawless, and there would be a lot less diapers involved.  However,  I wouldn't be able to wake up the morning to Milo yelling, "Mama, can I come in your room" or be able to kiss Liesel's cheeks, the most "kissable" checks that ever existed.  There wouldn't be as much snuggling, laughing, playing, story telling.  I wouldn't play legos everyday or remember how much fun it is to play dress up.  I wouldn't get to listen to the best belly laugh that ever existed,  Milo you truly have the best laugh I have ever heard.  I wouldn't be able to snuggle with Liesel in the mornings and be awed by her tenacity every day.  I wouldn't know the pride of a mother when her baby walks, her toddler learns to count or ride his bike.  I wouldn't be excited every day to show off my kiddos to the world. Or know the simple joy of a quiet house while everyone she loves is resting.  I would never have learned how to be patient, a lesson a mother is constantly learning.   I would never know how unbelievable the love for my husband is when watching him with our kids.   I wouldn't know the true love of a mother. And the bottom line is I wouldn't trade my life for anything.

Liesel,
At one you are the happiest, toughest and most social little girl. You love to flirt and wave to anyone you come across.  Your hugs and kisses melt anyone who is lucky enough to receive one.  When you want to do something the world better know that it will happen.  You love animals, baby dolls, blocks, food (any food), baths, kisses and hugs, playing hockey, your brother, clapping and being naked.  You dislike…well not much….all I can think of is being left out.  You are our sweet baby girl and we are so lucky that we get to see what you have in store for the world.

Milo,
You are 3!  You are strong willed, funny, imaginative, handsome, stubborn, athletic, smart and a little shy.  You love to play hockey, work at the farm, build blocks, read books, watch movies, tell stories, color, eat ice cream and ride your bike.  You really don't like to say good night, hear the word "no" or get your diaper changed.  You make us laugh every day and your dimpled smile melts my heart.  We are so proud of the little boy you have become.

I hope you both know that your dad and I will do anything in the world for you (as long as it doesn't allow you to do nothing) and love you both with all our hearts.  Happy Birthday Milo and Liesel!
