Thanksgiving 2019

It has been a a busy month.  A week after Disney I had surgery to repair the damage of three babies in four years.  And a week after my surgery was Thanksgiving.  The whole Thompson Clan showed up.  Grammy cooked and hosted everyone at my place.  It was nice to have everyone together.  And our favorite part was seeing our cousin Riley!!

We got 18 inches of snow the Tuesday before Thanksgiving.  Always fun!

I tried to get a picture of all 6 grandkids.  Wasn't really successful, but this is the best I got.

DISNEY

For the kids birthdays this year we went to Disney World.  I do have to say that though I was a skeptic it truly is the happiest place on earth :).  The kids, mom and dad, and Nana and Papa had a blast.  It turns out all three of our kids have a need for speed.  They loved the roller coasters! Thank goodness we had Nana because she brought all the stuff for autographs and pin trading which the kids agreed where some of the highlights.  We went to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Hollywood Studios.  We walked a minimum of 7 miles a day,  ate lots of unhealthy food, and had a blast!

At Magic Kingdom we did Mickey's Very Merry Christmas and stayed until 11:30.  It was a long day but totally worth it.

OH Man has life been tough!  Not in any way that isn't shared with every other family, in a way that means life is good and full, and busy, very, very busy! I am in a point in life where I feel like I am always one step behind in my personal life and business life. I have been reassured that this pretty typical for everyone in this phase of life.  That being said I wanted to make sure to get some narration about the three kiddos in our life.

Maddox
So a story that may be questionable to blog about, but definitely a story I don't want to forget.  So Maddox was talking to Miss Jan and he says, "So I know a really bad word that starts with a "B".  It is a really bad word"  to which Miss Jan replies,  "Ok buddy, you can tell me."  Then my sweet 4 year old looks at Miss Jan and says very seriously "Fuck head".  So good!  Miss Jan did confirm that this is a bad word, and that it actually starts with and "f.  Other than cursing Maddox spends his time keeping up with his big brother and sister.  He has started playing hockey.  His favorite parts of hockey are the fist bumps and that he gets "so sweaty" like his brother.  He is a big fan of pokey man cards thanks to his buddy Quinn.  His best buddies in school are Zoe, Adelyn, and Brynly.  He continues to be a sweet boy.  He does have a bit of a Will Farrell sense of humor.  When he is in the process of getting some laughs and mom, dad, or Ms Jan tell him "that is enough" he pushes a little further.  His strategy is to push past the anger until they crack and laugh.  I would say it works about 50% of the time.

Liesel
Liesel has decided to stop dance and take up gymnastics.  She is really enjoying it. She seems to be a natural.  Her strength and tenacity are a dangerous combination.  She continues to love imagination play and pretending to be some sort of animal.  Cats are her current favorite animal to be.  She tells lots of stories and talks with her hands like a little 7 year old going on 16.  She says "technically" and "literally"multiple times throughout her story and it really adds to her story telling.  Liesel has lost her two front teeth which makes her smile extra cute these days.  She is taking after her big brother and excels at Math.  She is becoming a better reader.  She loves to read the same stories over and over, which makes it hard to tell if she is ready or just memorized the story.

Milo
Milo is still playing hockey and is on a team with a really nice group of kids.  This fall he talked us into letting him play two sports, hockey and baseball.  We generally have a one sport at a time rule, but I am so glad we broke our rule.  He had so much fun playing fall ball.  He has taken to playing catcher and did such a great job.  He has built a good group of friends through school and sports.  I have been surprised at how social this once shy little boy has become.  He continues to work on his reading, is a great Math student, and the only negative thing his teacher had to say was that he is a 'bit chatty'.  He may look like his dad, and have a lot of his dad's habits, but he inherited his mom's extravorted nature.  Nana mentioned last week that Milo, turning 9, is half way through living with us.  Oh my!  I talked to Milo about this and he assured me that he could live with me longer.
