Glenwood visit for Grammys Birthday

This weekend we headed over the mountains to Grammy and Grandpa's house.  We had a great weekend full of all sorts of fun. Below are some pictures recapping the highlights from the eyes of Milo.  There where alot!!!

We started out each morning with a soak in the hot tub.

I got to spend some quality time with my Grammy.  Check out my new cool shirt.

Grandpa let me play on his tire swing.  This is a picture of me working on my smile.  For some reason it always gets a laugh from the photographer.

I helped consult grandpa on how to fix his hot tub leak.

Grandpa and I pick up rocks and threw them over the edge.

Every once in a while one would get stuck on my foot and Grandpa would take care of it for me.

See Daddo, this is how we do it.

I am VERY into bikes these days and if there is a helmet included, jackpot.

 I watched some soccer.

Daddo and I did some swinging.  Sometimes I would kick him and he would fall down. It was hysterical!

 Then I would apologize.

Then I would do it again...hehe.

 We worked on our band.

I even helped Grammy make Gnochhi...It was a great weekend!!!!!!

Farmer Aschermann

We have been a busy crew lately.  The majority of our weekends  have been spent working on our new homestead.  Even though we won't start construction on our house until next year we are already starting to feel like home here.  I wanted to make sure that we have some pictures of where we started....

Farmer Milo is very excited to spend the majority of his weekends outdoors.

Here comes Daddo in his new truck...a 68 ford that he purchased from his boss for a whopping $1.  Money well spent.

What is left of the rotten cottonwood tree after Daddo took a chain saw to it.

View to the east.  If you look closely you can see Downtown Denver.

 View to the South.

The beginnings of our garden and the existing outbuildings.

 View to the west.

The existing foundation from the original home.

more views to the south and the existing foundation.

The beginnings of our chicken coop.

Milo and his favorite toy as of late...his trike.

 Check out the concentration.

We have some fruit trees and lilac bushes on the north side of the property.

 Why the sad face?

 Anyone coming with me?

What a busy two months!!!!!

Wow so it has been two months since I updated the world on our little family.  Lets see only a few things have happened.  We bought four and half acres of land and have designed a house to be constructed in the summer of 2013.  We have recently been working on the chicken coup because we have adopted 5 new family members; four hens and a rooster.  They should be laying eggs by the end of summer.  Scott is anxious to get as many animals as soon as possible; chickens, pigs, goats, cows and who knows what else.  I have only committed to the chickens thus far.  We will see how that goes and move on from there.  We are very excited about the new land and are happy to be able to raise our kids in the environment we always dreamt of.  Speaking of kids...Scott, Milo and I are going to be welcoming a new family member into our life this fall.  I am pregnant and the new baby is due October 30th.  That's right, baby is due on Milo's birthday.  I don't think that is exactly what Milo wants on his second birthday :).  I have to say that this has been a rough pregnancy so far.  By the way whoever named  "morning" sickness was blessed that she only experienced it during the morning.  A good description of how I have felt so far is hung over 24 hours a day seven days a week.  On top of being constantly nauseous,  I have had two colds, the flu and pink eye during the first trimester.   Part of me thinks that this little one must be a girl because only a daughter would give her mom this hard of a time.  Then I remember that I am now an Aschermann and therefore destined for boys. We will have to wait until the fall to find out.  In all seriousness, I am very lucky to have the family and support system that I do.  I could not have gotten through the first trimester without my mother and mother-in-law.  Big thanks to them!!!!!!!

Milo is transforming into a little boy.  He is not a very verbal kid, but he has recently started trying to repeat what you say to him.  I do have to brag a bit and say that he is a terribly coordinated and strong little boy.  He runs, throws a ball, dances, rides his tricycle, plays hockey, climbs and keeps up with the other kids in his daycare despite being two years younger than them.  He goes to the doctor next week for his 18 month check up and I wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't gained any weight since his one year check up.  He is still a big boy, but not quite as monstrous as he use to be.  I'll bet he is still right at 30lbs.

Milo lined spent 30 minutes lining all his animal up on the stair.  Proud boy!

We got a new truck to go with our new land.  Scott's boss sold him this 68 Ford to him for a buck.  Milo is a fan.

Mama turns 30!!!

So this year I turned 30.  I have to say that I think that the thirties will look okay on me.  I am happy with where I am in life and am surrounded by wonderful people.   I spent a lot of my twenties trying to figure out who I wanted to be.  Recently I have stopped searching for some ideal woman that I wanted to become and started embracing who I am.  That perfect woman will come some day ;)  In the meantime I am enjoying figuring it out on my own, mistakes and all.

For my birthday my sister had family and friends over to her house.  It was nice to celebrate with everyone.  Grammy and Grandpa came into town and babysat on Saturday night so that Scott and I could go out on a date.  It is always nice to have a date night.

As for Milo Milestones...he continues to get cuter and cuter.  He is all boy.  Lots of energy.  He never walks and only runs.  He recently started to do some sign language which has helped with some of his frustration.  He currently is at the beginning of a cold and is a bit needy.  I am trying to enjoy the cuddles while he still lets me.  The best way to describe what he has been up to is with pictures.  So here is what Milo has been up to so far this month.

Bath time!

Helping Dado shovel.  We got a little over a foot of snow.
Happy boy in his car seat.
