Houston we have a 6th Grader, 4th Grader, and 2nd Grader

Well, that's a wrap on Summer 2022.   It was a summer of family.  We were mostly just home.  We had all sorts of plans for  home improvements and downtime.  To be honest I am not sure any of that got done.  We made little progress on home improvements event though we were home most of the summer and we felt very busy considering we didn't have any official "plans".  We went to Steamboat Springs and got to Visit Robert and his crew in Wyoming.  

The summer seemed to fly by and we have officially kicked off the school year.  Liesel and Maddox are at home at their elementary school, Van Arsdale and Milo seems to be adjusting to middle school really well.  Middle School!  How do we have a middle schooler.  

Between school, hockey, baseball, tutoring, and horse back riding the kids schedules keep us very busy on the weekends and on the week nights from 2:30-8:00.  My work at Aschermann Consulting is ramping up and my days from 9:00-2:30 are filling up with work meetings, house management, and PTSA tasks.  Somehow I have still managed to find some time to work out which helps me keep my sanity.  Since I have started my business I can honestly say that I my days are just as busy as when I was at Martin/Martin, but they seem to be more balanced.  Busy in all facets of life, both personal and professional.  I hope I am able to maintain this balance.  

Though life feels like a juggling act it feels nice to be juggling multiple balls fairly effectively instead of juggling one ball while the others just sit on the ground.

The kiddos got to go to the AVID 4 ADVENTURE camp.  They had so much fun getting to experience new adventures...Rock Climbing, mountain biking, hiking, and kayaking, and canoeing.

We have made the decision to just hang out home this summer and forego a big summer vacation.  We are going to stay home and enjoy a Colorado Summer.  In honor of "home" I thought I would share Milo's poem which we got printed for Father's Day.

HOME

I am from cows and chickens

From ginger snaps and fruit leathers.

I am from the farmhouse huge sandbox,

Big field and misshaped house.

I am from a trunk but no tree

That Dad never took down.

I am from hosting Fourth of July,

From Scott and Jane.

I’m from the visits to Glenwood,

From “close the door”.

I’m from hockey and baseball.

I’m from Arvada, from beef from our

Cows, we have hamburgers.

From Maddox almost falling of the roof,

The finger Dad almost lost.

The basement where we store everything,

Or in papa’s drawer,
