Another Photo Dump

I'll let the pictures show what we have been up to.

Milo, Maddox, Mommy, and Milo's buddy on Field Day. I love that Milo is representing BDI.

HiYa!  Outside of American Ninja Warrior.  I had a moment when I thought I would be super mom.  Pick up the kids after work and take them down town by myself to see the filming of American Ninja Warrior. It turned out to be a bust. You couldn't get anywhere close to seeing the obstacle course and the kids zone closed just as we got to the front of the line.  Oh well.  You win some and you loose some.

Milo went through a short phase (about 5 days) when he wore this bandana every day.

Last Day of Kindergarten!

Haha

Milo with his Kindergarten Teacher, Ms. Boyer.

Milo got the Mathematician speedster award.

Helping make cookies.

So much Sass.

I have to admit this freaked me out when I turned around.  It is not everyday you see a tiny transformer riding a unicorn.

I love weekend mornings.  Playing on the deck in their jammies

Liesel getting a pedicure.

The Sharkeys and the Aschermanns reunite for an evening.

Caroline snuggles

You know Scott is comfortable with you when he falls asleep while hosting.  This has happened to many of our friends.

The Boys.

Having Breakfast at the Smiths after the Arvada/Arvada Memorial Day Walk.

He fell asleep again.

Milo crashed after his first sleep over.  He spent the night with Connor, Joslyn, and Aunt Miranda and had a ball.

Irises from our farm in our window.  I love our home.

Maddox and Reid.  Too much cuteness.

The girl of many faces and emotions.

Buddies

This pictures are both adorable and a little creepy.  She picked out this outfit and asked if we could do a photo shoot.  She is 4 going on 16.  Slow down little girl.

We went up to visit Grammy and Grandpa.  When I went to go check on Maddox he was sound asleep, but apparently had fallen out of his bed.  Gotta love the third child.  So easy going.

brotherly love

Maddox and Liesel eating grapes with Paige while Mommy played soccer with some pretty awesome ladies from her Glenwood Purple Pride Days.

More bed time snuggles.

Meet Riley Kay Thompson.  Jen and Robert had their little girl on June 19th.  I can't wait to hug her in a couple weeks.

Happy Mother's Day - A Mother's Moment

I want to preference this blog post with the following:  I love being a mom and I had a great Mother's Day.  That being said, I have a rant I would like to take you on regarding the name of Mother's Day.  I have a lot of beautiful women in my life who are mothers and I think we would all agree that calling it Mother's DAY is an over-statement.  I mean, come on, who gets a whole day?  I would like to move that we start celebrating Mother's Moments.  The truth is that during this day of celebration us moms still cook, do laundry, pick up, change diapers, discipline our children, help with homework, and generally tend to the needs of our children.  Sure Dads are a a great help, but there are the frequent days when moms, especially those of us with small children, are the only ones that our kids want.  If your Mother's Day was anything like mine it went like this:  Waking up to praises of love and endearment very quickly followed by requests that needed to be filled, STAT!  My husband was out of town this year for Mother's Day, don't worry I have made sure to give him a very strong guilt trip as we all as a long list of honey-dos (I am also off the hook for Father's Day), anyway  I was flying solo on my Mother's Day.  I woke up to be presented with lovely homemade cards and gifts which my kids spent a lot of time working on.  They gave me lots of hugs and kisses, it was a great moment!  My wonderful mother in-law came by to watch my kids so that I could go for a run.  I shared a card with her and gave her some flowers, it too was a great moment!   When I got back from my run the honeymoon stage of the day was already over.  It was 9:00 am and Milo had given Nana my Mother's day card and all three of my little loves fell into fits of whining when they found out Nana was leaving and they were stuck with Mom.  Mom who they had spent all weekend with.  We recovered and had many more good moments throughout the day, but there was still the reality of being Mom.  Had my expectations been to enjoy a Mother's Moment I may not have felt sorry for myself when my kids were not respecting my DAY. But let's get real, my kiddos are 2, 4, and 6 how can I expect a whole day without arguing, without messes, without whining, without needs that need to be filled by Mom.  The truth is there will always be the moments that make me realize that being a Mom is great, moments that are the highlight of my life and dedicating a day to Motherhood is kind of silly. Every day is full of these Mother's Moments: moments when my kids, my husband, my friends, my family show appreciation for the mother I am.  So this year I hope you all had a slew of wonderful Mother's Moments during Mother's Day, but more importantly I hope you see and recognize the millions of other Mother's Moments you have throughout the year.

Here are my Mother's Moments from the past month...

We are at the upper limits on the capacity of this bath tub as well as cuteness factor.

Believe it or not she really is asleep.  Liesel is one of the most angelic sleepers.

Grammy and Milo working on homework.

Bear snuggle time at the library

"Do you need this crayon?"

One of my favorite things about our view is watching storms move in.

Bosco loves sunning on the deck

The boys making breakfast.

We had Matthew's pup, Mya last week.  She is the sweetest.

Curly Sue.

More Gabion Walls.

Dinner time on the Deck

Crazy Sock and Crazy Hair Day at preschool for the crazy girl.

My Mother's Day Flowers from Milo.

Aye, Aye Captain.

Bosco's perch at night.

Karate Kid

Feeding the goats with Papa

Denver Kicker's Club

I may have overestimated Maddox's strider skills.  I spent most of this two mile bike ride pushing him.  Thank goodness Nana met us halfway to drive Maddox home.  One thing I did not overestimate…his cuteness!

Milo and Liesel finishing strong.

Ice cream on the deck

Liesel came down one morning after dressing herself and I immediately flash forward 15 years.  We are in trouble.

Dress up time

She kills me.

While Scott was out of town I almost stepped on this guy.  Scared the crap out of me.  I guess I will have to get use to it.  #farmlife
