"When did we start getting bags under our eyes?"

We have been taken down by our second family cold of the season and hopefully our last.  Scott has been very busy at work trying to get a new company started in both the UK and US. And to top it off we have put our house on the market.  We plan on building within the next two years, but in the mean time we would love to have a yard for the kids and Bosco to play in.  We will be loooking for a rental as soon as our place sells.  I am excited for the upcoming adventures, but I will miss our home of 10 years.  It is the first home Scott and I owned together, where we built a family and where we brought our babies home.  That being said if you know anyone looking for a beauitiful townhouse in Arvada, give them my number.  The kids continue to keep us on our toes.  The other morning while brushing our teeth Scott says to me "When did we both start getting bags under our eyes".  I am pretty sure it happened on October 29, 2010.  If bags under my eyes is the price I must pay, you have a deal. :)

Liesel now has 12 teeth, I think.  She isn't terribly cooperative with me when I am trying to poke around in her mouth.  She continues to be fearless and tries to keep up with her big brother at all times.  She is currently on a high chair streak and insists on sitting at the table with the rest of us.  She LOVES babies and animals.  She carries her dolls around all the time and spends a lot of time putting on and taking off their blanket. She enjoys getting her hair done and wearing pretty clothes.  She has a girly side for sure.  She is hell bent on learning how to dress herself.  It is not uncommon for her to spend 30 minutes trying to put on her pants, shirt or socks.  She is a tenacious little girl and has learned how to shake her head "no" very well.  She is following in her brother's footsteps and is not much of a talker.  She can say "mama",  "dada", "nana", "papa" "wow" and "uh-oh", but chooses to mainly grunt.  A special talent, the little girl can whistle.  So far she has only done it for Grandma Laurie and for me, but refuses to show off her talent to anyone else.

Milo is all boy these days.  We are trying to work on teaching him what hands and legs are for and that they should be kept to yourself.  He gets in trouble often for tackling his sister and playmates.  We continue to struggle with potty training.  To be honest it is pretty non-existant.  People keep telling me that he won't go to kindergarten in diapers.  Man, I hope they are right.  Besides rough and stubborn he is also very athletic, funny and has the best imagination.  He is starting to get skating down and he is quite the climber at the playgrounds.  He has mastered ladders, all kinds of crazy steps and even some of the climbing walls.  Favorite Milo says:  "I have an idea",  "amorrow = tomorrow", "Are you kidding me".

We don't get to spend a lot of time at the farm during this time of the year, but when it is nice Milo and Liesel love getting dirting while Mom and Dad do some work.

Liesel playing with one of Mommy's old troll dolls.

Milo doing crafts with Grammy.  This boy loves crafts.  If there are stickers, crayons, sissors or glue count him in!

When I left her she was in her high chair, diaper one, onesie snaped.  When I came back (in like 1 minute) this is what I found.  Note that was the yogurt I was going to have for lunch

Grammy sent Milo some Legos.  He is obsessed with Legos these days. They will give us hours of intertainment.  Thanks Grammy, from both Milo and Mommy.

Liesel was so sad the Broncos lost the Super Bowl.

We spend hours on the potty watching the ipad.  This was minute 50.  We got off after an hour, no tinkle.

2014

So apparently keeping the Family Blog up to date was not at the top of my New Year's resolution list.  Christmas this year was a great reminder of how much little kids make the holiday.  Milo really got into the Christmas Spirit and he brought Liesel right along with him.  Since I am so belong and I have a ridiculous number of photos from the Holidays I will just start there.

Daddy was home the whole Holiday season.

Liesel hammy it up while we wait in line to see Santa.

So it turns out waiting in line was way more fun than the actual visit with Santa.

Milo let Santa know that he wanted a play kitchen and a guitar.  He told him from afar.  Still not ready to sit on his lap.

We went on a sleigh ride after our Santa visit.  This is an awful picture of Milo, but proof that Mom does actually join in the festivities.

Santa's helper.

Ice Skating on Christmas Eve.

Milo with Uncle G.

Liesel and Uncle G.

Liesel tried to stay up to see Santa, but just couldn't keep her little eyes open.

Scott and I at the Martin/Martin Christmas Party.

Daddy and Liesel after bath time.

Milo watching cartoons not the iPad looking like a big kid.

Milo and Liesel's first nap together.  LOVE!

We went to Breckenridge with Heather and Matt Brougham.  Milo really started to get good at skating. We have learned that marching on the ice is a good way to get the kiddos comfortable.

Liesel loved it!

We celebrated New Years at home with home made party hats.

The holidays wore out these two boys.

Liesel having her snack at the big kid table.

Shoveling at Nana and Papa's

Making Valentine's.

Liesel loves to participate in craft time, but she isn't a very good rule follower.  A bit more coloring on tables, arms, clothes and face than on paper.  If I have said it once I have said it a hundred times,  She is sooo different than her brother.  She is going to give us a run for our money.

After bath time.  Liesel loves to take showers with Daddy.  Milo still prefers baths.

The Aschermann's are the proud new owners of a new tractor.  Daddy can't stop smiling.

We celebrated Aunt Miranda's Birthday at our house.  Love these people!

Liesel wanted a shot at the whole potty thing.  Milo is remaining stubborn when it comes to potty training.  Liesel has benefit from our time in the bathroom,  she has peed in the potty three times.

Bath time.  Milo is getting more comfortable in the water.  We have been going to the Apex pool a lot during the weekends.  This weekend we spent a lot of time going down the big slides.
