Pumpkin Patch Fun!!!

On October 28th we had so much fun at the Botanic Gardens in Chatfield.  Milo had his first bouncy castle experience, got a spider painted on his arm, rode a pony and had tons of fun playing with the other kiddos!   Luke, thanks for the invite!!!

Milo's First Sentence

This was one I figured I needed to write down.  Papa was bouncing Milo up and down on his leg yesterday (10/21/12).  He was have a grand ole time and then he stopped and said "Owie to butt."  That is right Mo's first sentence was "Owie to butt!"

Eviction Notice Posted

We are ready for our second little one to join us.  I will be 39 weeks on Tuesday and I have posted the eviction notice.  Now we will see how cooperative the tenant is :).  Besides the waiting game we have been up to all sorts of fall fun.

Mo has really started to have a great imagination and watching him play has been a joy.  The other day we were getting ready to leave for work and day care.  I was loading up the car and Milo came out to the garage with me.  The garage door was closed so I figured I was safe to go inside and get the rest of my stuff.  When I came back out into the garage, 20 seconds later, I couldn't find Milo.  I called for him and nothing.  I figured he was hiding, but normally his giggles give him away.  After about a minute of looking (which feels like forever when you can't find your toddler) I found him hiding between the garage door and the car.  He was quiet as can be with a big smile on his face.  Very pleased with himself.

BabyUpdate

I am now between 37weeks and 38weeks prego.  We had a check up with a specialist during my 32 week regarding the location of my placenta.  The appointment was all good news.  Baby looks healthy and the placenta has moved from the cervix which means, as Scott put it, "We are clear for take off".  We also got some 3D images of our little one.  Baby did not want to move his/her hand, but we still got some cute pics!

Oh how time flies

Another busy month flew past me.  We have been busy the last couple of months.  We went to Breckenridge for Labor Day and spent some time with Nana, Papa and the Smiths.  We also made it over the mountains to Grand Junction.  We went with the Aschermann Crew and Grammy and Grandpa to see the Blue Angels.  Brandon, Scott's cousin's husband flies number 3 in the diamond.  It was lots of fun.  We have also been busy getting the nursery ready for baby and harvesting our fall produce from the farm.

Milo has become a true lover of books.  Here he is enjoying story time with Miss Jan.

Papa and Milo doing some extreme walking.

Here we are with the Blue Angels.

MIlo and Dad had a boy's weekend while Mom enjoyed a weekend away with some girl friends.  Dad too Mo to the Westerneers.  He looks like such a big boy in the picture.

Milo even got to ride a horse.

Is this tool we need?

Fall fun!!!!  We pulled the corn husks and pumpkins from our pumpkin patch.  Our front porch is looking very festive.

Biking Boy

We have been having a lot of fun over the last couple of weeks.  Last Friday Milo and I babysat our neighbor Caroline while her Mom took her big brother to preschool.  Milo did very well.  He helped me cook breakfast and made frequent visits to the swing to check on the baby.  He came back each time and said "baby".  I was so glad to have some help making sure little 5 month Caroline wasn't making a break for it ;)

Last Saturday Scott, Milo and I rode our bikes to watch the USA Pro Challenge Bike Race.  It was the longest 8 mile ride ever.  This coming from a woman who used to bike between 150 and 200 miles in a week ...Wow how my life has changed    Scott was pulling Milo in the trailer along with all the necessities that go along with a toddler. I am guessing this added up to about 60 lbs.  I had a smaller load to carry, but with all my extra weight not as strategically placed my back was not happy with me.  It was worth the ride.  We had lots of fun and Milo loved all the bikes.

Having lunch on the side of Highway 93 while waiting for the race.

Waving to the cars driving by.

After we got home from the race.  Milo rode his strider bike around for about an hour and then off to nap.  He has started to take naps in a big boy bed.  We transferred the loft into a bedroom and are getting a door this weekend.  Once that is in place Milo will move permanently to his big boy room.  It is a bike theme decor.  I can't believe how big he looks in this picture.
Below is a video we sent to Grammy and Grandpa.  It is mainly Milo showing off his animal sounds.  I thought it was too cute not to post.

Summer 2012 is coming to an end.

I can't believe that the summer is coming to an end.  Schools are starting back up and hopefully the really hot days are starting to taper off.  Scott is home after being in Australia for the last 3 weeks.  I have said it before and I will say it again....I do not know how single parents do it! Milo didn't skip a beat with Dad.  He went running to him the minute he saw him.  I think being able to Skype and FaceTime almost every night really helped.

Milo is starting to talk more and more.  Still not a lot of words, but tons of noises.  He knows what many animals say and he loves to share his skills with random roars, monkey noises, and, my favorite, Cock-a-doodle-dos.   If you point to something blue and ask him what color it is he will say "BLUE".  Don't be too impressed because if you point to something red, green or any other color Milo will tell you it is "BLUE".  He will actually argue with you for a good 30 seconds over the fact.  He has really become a  little boy.  He is very rough and tumble and is always on the go.  I would say he is strong willed and pretty bossy.  He gets these traits from his dad.  He is also extremely lovable and funny.  He gets these traits from his mom :).  It has been the best summer of my life and I can't believe how fast Milo is growing up.

A day at the park with three grandbabies makes fore a tired Grammy.  Never too tired for some cuddles!

We have construction going on behind our house and Milo loves to watch the action.  Sometimes it is too loud so he has learned how to plug his ears.

We have made several trips to the zoo this summer.  Here is Milo showing Nana where the monkeys are.  "Do you see, over there Nana"
