Bonus Blog

It seems like I am lucky to get one blog a month completed.  This is my second one this month.  We had some big milestones that I wanted to make sure I captured this month.  Liesel's first day of preschool and Milo started hockey.

Liesel LOVES school.  She likes her teachers and getting to play with other kids, but her very favorite thing is the horse rides at Happy Valley.  She is just beside herself with excitement on the days she get to ride the ponies.  On her first day she walked in hung up her back pack, as if she had done it a thousand times, introduced herself to a teacher and said "bye Mom".  Just like that she grew up.  I got a hug and a kiss and hesitantly walked out secretly envying the moms who's kids still clung to them.  When I picked her up that evening she was full of tales from school.  I was excited that I would finally have a kid in school who would discuss the daily events.  Milo's general response is "nothing".  After Liesel's first day she immediately started talking about all the friends she made. She even knew their names, Riley and Colin... I was thrilled, until I started to think she may be making up stories.  She continued running through the list of names, Zoola, Frozen Ice, and Snow White.  Oh, well at least she was animated and it was obvious she had a great day!

Milo has also found love.  The love of hockey.  He started the 6 week Avalanche's Mighty Mites program.  He is on the ice with 50 other kids between 5-7, a team of 13 year olds and about 6 adult coaches.  His favorite part is passing, but he is pretty sure it is going to be skating fast.  "I am going to be very fast, mom.  I am pretty sure I would have killed it out there at the end if I wasn't so tired".  After practice he was so sweaty that it looked like he had just gotten out of the pool.  He was sweaty and happy, just as little boys should be.

Look at this cute bunch.

Excited girl

We had to run a bunch of errands one Friday and Liesel the dragon just couldn't keep her eyes open.

Liesel in our new bedroom.  It is starting to look like a real house.

Maddox wanted a shot at the dragon action.  He makes a very cute dragon.

More house shots.

Milo's very first "official" hockey lesson.

Some big milestones...kindergarten, big boy beds, preschool, and more.

Apparently I stepped up my Mom Game this month.  After going through my photos for this blog I noticed that I took a ton of pictures.  I am very pleased with myself as I was just thinking that I have been negligent with the photo taking over the year of 2016.  This being the case I will blog this month's big moments with the following pictures.

Milo at his Open House for Kindergarten.  He is in Ms. Boyer's class (I am pretty sure he has a crush on her).  There are 27 kids in his class and he is there for half day.  He had no jitters and was over the moon excited!

Such a Handsome Boy.

Watching the raising of the flag and the shooting of a rocket.

It is just Liesel and Maddox with Mommy on Fridays now.  We do a lot of running around and errands.  I never thought I would say this, but carting around two kids is easy....relative to three.

Looking cool at the dentist.  Unfortunately, Liesel does have a small cavity.  She apparently has "groovy" teeth.  She has an appointment later this month to get her cavity filled and the rest of her teeth sealed.  The dentist said they won't have to do any local numbing, but will be using laughing gas.  That should be interesting...stay tuned till next time for an update on that one.

No cavities for this boy.

Maddox was awesome at the dentist.  He is so easy to get to do "big kid" things.  If his brother and sister are doing it, you better believe Maddox is on board.

Mom, Dad and the kids all went to a local farm auction.  It was very interesting and lots of fun.

This little cutie at the park.

Maddox started climbing out his crib a couple of weekends ago and we decided to move him to a toddler bed.  He transitioned so well.  I can't believe how fast my baby is growing.

Mom and Dad took a week off of work to get some things done on the house.  One chore required renting a little backhoe.  The kids had lots of fun playing on this.

One of our chores was the stair case out of the basement.  We installed the stairs and built these gabion walls.  Pretty nice if I do say so myself.  We really got a lot done, design, construction, running errands, and most importantly time alone.  We had a blast talking, laughing, and spending time just the two of us.

My company had a picnic and these two were so excited to get their faces painted.

Liesel starts preschool this Thursday.  She is very excited, mostly about the Happy Valley pony rides.  She loved her open house and got to meet her teacher Miss. Julie.  I believe she hears "jewelry" when we say Julie because she calls her Miss Julie-o. Her speech is pretty good, but "r" and "s" really give her a hard time.  "Daddy let's go to the park and wing (swing)",  "I love going to the pool and wimming", "I lipped on the ice".

This little cutie is excited for preschool.

The house is really coming along.  Here is the second floor with drywall in.  Hopefully we will be in our new home in November.

Another big change:  Grandma Laurie has watched these kids since Milo was 3 months old.  She is an amazing daycare provider who truly loves our kiddos.  We are so blessed to have her in our lives.  Not only has she always been there for my kids by I too have grown to love her very much.  We will continue to keep in touch and have her in our lives.  Tomorrow we start with our nanny, Miss Jan.

Some excited Buff fans.  If I am being honest they were more excited about their new shirts then the actual game.  But the buffs did great in the Rocky Mountain Showdown this year.  Go CU!

Liesel and Reid-o.

These two.. True Love.
