June already...I suppose that it is appropriate that the last time I blogged it was Mother's Day and now it is Father's Day. Instead of raving about the women in my life I will brag about the men. We went up Glenwood this weekend to celebrate Strawberry Days and Father's Day. It has been over a year since I last visited. It was great to be in my home town and to see my Mom and Dad. We had a lot of quality family time and it was one our best visits to the mountains. The kids had a ball watching the parade, roasting marshmallows, swinging with Grandpa, playing in the hot tub, and staying up way past their bed time. Thank you Dad for setting roots in the beautiful location and allowing us to call this place home. We had a wonderful weekend with you. I truly hope this next year has more good times for our family in store.
Scotty-otty, to a man who didn't think he wanted kids. I am so thankful that Milo surprised us and decided to make us parents and more specifically, you a Dad. As soon as I saw you look at him the first time I knew you were made to be a Dad. Two years after our first little guy we met Liesel and then in another two years came Maddox...and if you had your way a gaggle of more kids would come in the following years. We are both so lucky to watch them grow up and they are equally lucky to have you as a dad. Fatherhood looks good on you honey!
Speaking of your little ones they are changing daily.
Milo still loves ninjas, but he now prefers knights. During imaginary play he often pretends to be a knight and one of his favorite movies is "A Knights Tale". He and Liesel are starting to play really well together. They love imaginary play and though it is hard to tell if they are both following the same script is fun to listen to them giggle together. Besides starting to play well with Liesel, he is also unbelievably sweet to Maddox. He has mentioned multiple times this summer that he misses school. Hopefully we can get some play dates set up soon.
Liesel continues to pick up more and more phrases: "Okay Mum", "Okay Dad" "Bad Guys, Chase Us" (while playing with Mo), she knows her full name "Liesel Mary Aschermann". Though she still loves her babies, horses are starting to climb to the top of her favorite things to play with. If she has a choice she will pick a dress to wear, but this little girl is rough and tumble. Her knees are far more banged up than Milo's ever are. She can do a 25 piece puzzle by herself and she become a very good little artist. She and her big brother love to color together.
Maddox has started to really interact. He is working diligently on learning how to wave. He has master the skills of eating big kid food and he uses a straw like a pro. He continues to be a blissful baby sleeping 10 to 12 hours a night and happy while he is awake. He is becoming a little more independent now that he can sit and play with his toys.
I can get enough pictures of babies sleeping in car seats, so sweet. I love those cheeks.
