Farming Update

The Aschermann Farm is still a work in progress.  The chickens are not laying eggs yet, but should be soon.  We did discover that we have two roosters instead of the requested one.  This can be a problem depending on how aggressive the roosters are.  So far ours seem to be fairly mellow and therefore we may be able to keep both.  We currently have three gardens;  the berry garden, the pumpkin patch and the regular garden. The berry garden is fairly sad.  We didn't get the plants in until late in the season and the heat has been hard on them. I am hoping the plants will start to look better after our week of the forecasted rains.  If it does I will post some pictures of it as well.  On the other hand our pumpkin patch which includes an assortment of squash is thriving.  It could use some thinning, but I am a little afraid of what might be living in that jungle.  Our regular garden is doing very well considering we planted most of the items from seeds we purchased last year.  We have been having a lot of fun watching our property come to life.

We could loose him in there.

I love Milo's stance in this picture

Our garden looked much greener prior to weeding.  What is left....tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, onions, garlic, carrots, beens, peas, zucchini and corn.

My two farmer boys.  For a moment I thought Milo was getting very tall, but I just noticed he is standing on the shovel.

More Summertime Fun

Oh boy I have not been good about updating what is going on in our lives.  We have had a good summer  minus the record heat.  It makes for a very hot mama and not "that kind of hot".  It has been a crummy summer to be pregnant, but I am not sure there is a such a thing as a good season to be pregnant.  Scott has been traveling a lot, but is now home for a couple of weeks.  We are soaking him and the rain he brought with him in as much as possible. Scott and I were able to take a trip to the Florida Keys just the two of us in June while Milo stayed with Nana and Papa.  It was great to spend time with Scott and it is always healthy to get the chance to miss those that you love.  And we really missed Mo! I think the best way to tell you what else we have been up to is to show you....
